"Omran al Owais, an Emirati architect and the creative director of the Dubai-based Centimetercube design firm, admitted a tendency in Abu Dhabi and Dubai’s built environments to focus on design from a large-scale perspective, something he said could alienate people from their surroundings.
“When it comes to me trying to walk around [Abu Dhabi] and hug the buildings, it’s just not friendly enough,” he said."
